The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is a much-loved, award-winning destination set in the heart of the Brecon countryside. Family-run and renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, it has grown over the years into one of Wales’ leading independent garden centres – offering a unique mix of horticulture, retail, and hospitality.

When the team at The Old Railway Line wanted to enhance their site with improved weather protection for customers, they turned to Newspan to deliver a solution tailored to their needs.

The Solution

Newspan designed and constructed a new plant sales canopy, complete with a galvanised frame, lattice trusses, and painted purlins. The project posed a unique challenge: the structure needed to be built between three different existing buildings, each with its own geometry. This required meticulous design work to ensure every detail was aligned and the finished canopy blended into the surrounding structures.

The result is a bespoke canopy that provides year-round weather protection while complementing the existing site. It demonstrates exactly what Newspan does best – taking on technically demanding projects and turning complex requirements into elegant, practical solutions.
