Sports hall for Furze Platt Senior School

Working in partnership with other specialist contractors for Windsor & Maidenhead Council, Newspan was key in the construction and delivery of a bespoke 650 sq m sports hall, replacing an old building which had fallen into disrepair at Furze Platt Senior School in Maidenhead.
Constructed during term-time, the eight week programme necessitated excellent planning and management of traffic, the movement and operation of cranes and, of course health and safety, to ensure that the sports hall – complete with new showers and changing rooms – was delivered with minimal disruption in the Spring of 2009.
The sports hall completed the Sportsmark school’s extensive sports facilities and as well as providing an ideal environment for 1,300 pupils to enjoy a huge range of sporting activities to take place, it has added to the school’s already well-established reputation for excellence in physical education.
